Valse Erica, for Bb Tenor or Soprano Saxophone and Piano
Composed by and first recorded by Rudy Wiedoeft in 1917. How do you say "Thank-you" to the person who made your career possible? Rudy Wiedoeft's sister, Erica, recognized his talent and gave her life-savings to Rudy so he could go to Chicago and study the clarinet with a master. This later opened the door for his trial of a new-ish instrument, the saxophone. As his skill grew, he turned to composition, amongst his earliest, and first major recordings, he said Thank-you with Valse Erica. This edition is drawn from the original printed music to which all the nuances Rudy Wiedoeft brought to it "as he performed it."
